A Chemist has m gm of salt water that is m% salty. How many grams of salt must be add to make a solution that is 2m % salty? Answer: At m% saltiness M gram salt water contain =m2/100 gm salt Suppose the chemist added x gram of salt to his m gram salt water to make it 2m% salty then he added x gram of salt to already existing m2/100 gm salt ,same x gram of salt also increased the weight of salt water to x+m gram salt water to get 2m% salty water Now at 2m% salty water to get 2m/100=m2/100+x/m+x then solve this and get x=m2/100-2m. Note:salt/salt water is wt/wt. |
